I was so excited about the experience. I wanted to watch Barbie and then directly, the next minute enter the world of Oppenheimer. From fantasy to one of the most disturbing times in reality. I don’t have a habit of watching trailers, I don’t like to. I knew absolutely nothing about either one. As illustrated by my fantasy about the fantasy, which isn’t entirely false though.
I watched the two movies about a week after their release, I think. Couldn’t get good seats in the beginning and of course they were all pricey. Finally, after much deliberation, we decided to go watch Oppenheimer. Watching Barbie wasn’t as complicated. We wondered why and well, because yes, the audience spectrum is a bit narrower than that of Oppenheimer and well, of course, then there’s Christopher Nolan. That’s a bit of a factor too I suppose.
We kinda just went and watched Barbie on a whim, in a pretty empty theatre. With a little kid and her dad next to us. I seemed to enjoy the movie much better than the little girl, ‘cause well, I’m sure there were things she didn’t completely comprehend. She was pretty young. Since I watched Barbie that night and the next possible soonest show I could catch was the 06:30 am show the next morning, we just went ahead and booked whatever seats we could get. Made the best of it, but as it turned out they were good seats.
But the best movie I’d watched within this span of one week from the movies releasing on the 21st to me watching them on the 27th and 28th, was this regional movie named “Hostel Hudugaru Bekaagiddaare”.
It stole the show, and I didn’t even really know the title of the movie until I got to the theatre and sat down. Hands down the funniest thing I’ve watched in years. And that’s including pure comedy shows, stand-ups. I just laughed for like 2 hours straight.
